Hrusovsky to Head Alton Steel

Alton Steel announced the election of James Hrusovsky as CEO effective immediately. Hrusovsky, former Essar Steel Algoma CEO and a 31-year veteran of the steel industry, will succeed Charlie Linnemeyer.
Prior to his career at Essar Steel, Hrusovsky was CEO for Severstal Columbus where he led a significant expansion for the company.
Linnemeyer, who started with the company in 2003 and was named CEO in 2010, will remain with the company as a Senior Advisor, working with Hrusovsky and the Board in a sales and business development capacity.
Alton Steel, a privately owned company, serves the automotive, mining and energy industries and is one of the largest recyclers of scrap metal in St. Louis. Alton Steel produces 250,000 tons of SBQ (special bar quality) annually.
