Registrations for the 2018 SMU Steel Summit Conference continue to come in at a steady pace. It took us until July 10 last year to reach the number of registrations that we already have as of the beginning of this week. There are 211 companies registered and we still expect 300+ companies and 800 steel and manufacturing executives to fill the Georgia International Convention Center on Aug. 27-29.
A SMU Steel Summit Conference is a special experience for anyone involved with the steel industry, be it manufacturing/fabrication, distribution, production, trading, logistics, toll processors and all of the companies that service the industry. We are including a listing of the companies registered to attend the 2018 steel conference to date (those with an asterisk * means more than one executive will be attending). This is the premier conference to meet decision makers, meet new prospects/suppliers and to learn a great deal about the economy, the industry and the challenges/opportunities facing the industry both now and in the years to come.

Steel sheet buyers report feeling bogged down by the ongoing stresses of stagnant demand, news fatigue, tariff negotiations or implementation timelines, and persistent macroeconomic uncertainty.

CRU: US stainless prices to rise on expanded S232 tariffs
Stainless prices in the US market will rise, following price increases by major US producers. Our base case scenario incorporates higher US prices in the near term, despite the initial negative reaction by the market. US stainless prices will go up in 2025 H2 and will stay elevated in 2026 as tariffs on stainless […]
