SMU Steel Summit 2022 Conference Update: 38 Days to Go
Written by John Packard
July 14, 2022
We are now 38 days away from the start of the 2022 SMU Steel Summit Conference. Registrations are now approaching 900 attendees and we still expect another 200+ executives to register over the next five weeks. If you have not yet registered, you can do so by clicking here. The following companies registered for the conference over the past few days (those with an * mean more than one person is coming from that company): Advance Steel Co., American Metal Group*, Bobcat Co., Calpine Energy Solutions, Dover*, EVRAZ Inc. NA, General K inematics Corp.*, Global Steel Solutions LLC, Great South Metals, International Steels Ltd.*, Kautex Textron*, McNeilus Truck Manufacturing, Metal One America, Phoenix Metals*, Rio Tinto Services Inc., Shivom Jay Steels International LLC, Shyam Steel Industries Ltd., Weissenrieder & Co. AB, and Whirlpool Corp. You can find the full list of attending companies by clicking here.
Once again, the SMU Steel Summit Conference will be the best-attended flat-rolled- and plate-focused steel conference in the Western Hemishere. We anticipate somewhere around 1,100 to 1,200 attendees by the time we reach the opening of the conference. Once again we will have an exceptional program with quality speakers. For those who wish to network, all of the decision-makers will be there – heads of purchasing, heads of sales, vice presidents, presidents, CEOs, CFOs, and their support staff. There is no other event in North America where you have the ability to meet and discuss industry concerns and opportunities like you can in Atlanta on August 22-24. The Georgia International Convention Center is excellent, and there are four Marriott-owned properties within a few minutes walk.
Yesterday, the events team released the brand-new SMU Steel Summit Conference App which you can find in your phone’s app store. You can also download the app to your PC or laptop computer. You will need to download the app prior to attending the conference for several reasons:
- My Agenda – Within the app you will find the agenda personalized to your schedule.
- Attendees – Our new app has improved functionality in order to find people you would like to network with.
- Your Profile – Add personal information that will help raise interest with other attendees who may wish to meet or network with you.
- Speakers – You can find biographies of all speakers and when they will be speaking.
If you have any questions about how to download the app, how to use the app, or anything else regarding the conference, please reach out to conferences@crugroup.com.
Nominations for the 2022 NexGen Leadership Award close tomorrow (Friday, July 15). Finalists will be notified during the first week of August. You can learn more and submit a nomination by clicking here.
