    Spread tightens between US HR prices and imports

    The price gap between US hot-rolled coil (HR) and landed offshore product tightened this week, as stateside tags continue to rise. Still, the premium for US hot band over imports has remained in a relatively tight range since early December.

    SMU’s average price for domestic HR was $1,005 per short ton (st) this week, $25/st higher week on week (w/w). In offshore markets last week, prices varied across regions.
