US hot band prices hold, import gap eases marginally

SMU’s average price for domestic hot rolled (HR) was unchanged week on week (w/w) at $1,180 per short ton (st). In offshore markets, prices mainly moved up.

Still, the dynamic between stateside and imported product varied little, keeping with the trend seen for much of the year.
