Nucor Plate Group keeps fuel surcharge at $10/ton for June
Written by Ethan Bernard
Nucor Plate Group will maintain its previously announced fuel surcharge of $10 per short ton (st) for next month, effective on all shipments beginning June 1.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker first said the fuel surcharge was necessary in April to address rising costs. Last month, it was $10/st on plate as well.
“We remain committed to providing reliable service and transparency as we adapt to changing market dynamics,” Nucor said in a letter to customers on Friday.
Nucor announces the surcharge amount on the 15th of each month for shipments beginning the following month.
