    Olympic Steel Makes Management Changes


    Olympic Steel announced changes to the company’s leadership team on Friday.

    olympic steel logoMichael Heenan has been named general manager for the Cleveland-based metals service center’s Gary, Ind., temper mill processing and distribution facility. Heenan joined the company in 2010 and most recently served as regional sales manager for Olympic’s Gary and Schaumburg and Bartlett, Ill., Specialty Metals operations.

    Gerald “Jerry” Gideon has been named commercial director for Olympic’s Specialty Metals business segment. Gideon joined the company in a commercial leadership role in 2010, and in 2014 became general manager for the Integrity Stainless facility in Streetsboro, Ohio.

    Richard Ranells has been named general manager for the processing facility in Latrobe, Pa., one of two locations that support Olympic’s Integrity Stainless subsidiary. He joined the company in a commercial role in 2010, and most recently served as director of sales for both of Olympic’s Integrity Stainless subsidiary locations.

    Scott Silverman has been named general manager for the processing facility in Streetsboro, the other location that supports Integrity Stainless. Silverman joined the company in 2022 as director of operations for Integrity Stainless.

    “These outstanding members of our team have already made significant contributions to the rapid growth of our Specialty Metals business segment,” Andy Markowitz, Olympic’s president of Specialty Metals, said in a press release.

    Olympic said that all of the individuals moving into new roles will report directly to Andrew Wolfort, Olympic’s vice president of Specialty Metals.
