Written by Sandy Williams

Canada’s Russel Metals is acquiring metals service center Sanborn Tube Sales of Wisconsin, Inc. Sanborn Tube is located near three of Russel’s Wisconsin service centers and has a strong focus on value-added processing. The Pewaukee, Wis.-based company reported annual sales of $19 million. The transaction is expected to close by Dec. 31, 2020.

“Sanborn is a well-established company that dovetails nicely into our existing business in the Midwest region,” said Russel President and CEO John Reid. “Sanborn has been both a customer and supplier to Russel’s Wisconsin division and Russel Metals’ Williams Bahcall. Sanborn’s value-added processing capabilities accelerate our strategic plans in the area. We look forward to having all of the Sanborn employees as part of the Russel family.”

Russel Metals is one of the largest distributors and processors in North America, ranked No. 6 in this year’s Metal Center News Service Center Top 50 with annual revenues of approximately $2.8 billion.
